After the Under 11s' win in their first Kwik Cricket tournament for three years on Friday, the 1st XI won a tight game v. Needham Market on Saturday. The Green's 183-9 was built around Stuart Hammond’s 65 and Man of the Match Tom Lee’s 43 off 32 balls. Needham could only manage 178 in reply, with pick of the bowlers being Matt Parker (3-40) and Joe Young (3-58). The 1sts are at home to Hadleigh tomorrow – support welcome.

Away at West Mersea on Sunday, the Green’s mix of youth and experience (pictured) did well to restrict Mersea to 173-4 in 40 overs. Craig Axon and Duncan Wyatt got us to a cracking start in reply, but 63-0 quickly became 96-6 as wickets tumbled and despite a partnership of 45 between Tim Chambers and Man of the Match Felix Friedlein we fell 7 short. We're at home to Great Totham this Sunday.
