Cricket week day 2: another run chase falls agonisingly short

Day two of cricket week: Youth A v Youth B

Our U13/U11 mixed teams held a fun, friendly game of terrier cricket as part of EAG cricket week. Played in balmy weather, Youth A batted first and, thanks to an explosive 25 by Nitja Patel and 16 from Ethan Wyatt, posted a decent score of 286 -3 (teams start with 200 runs on the board). It would have been a better score but for tight bowling from Connor Amos and James Woodcock who each took a wicket (teams lose 5 runs for every wicket lost).

Youth B's reply got off to the worst possible start losing two wickets in the first over, due to great bowling from Charlie Randall. Everytime Youth B made progress they were pegged back by losing a wicket, ultimately falling short of the required total by just 5 runs. Well done Youth A, a deserved win.
