1’s Rained Off
Unfortunately the first’s title charge was hampered on Saturday by some heavy showers. The make-shift covers that were created could not protect the bowler’s run ups and some patches on the square cased 20 points to escape the Green against a lacklustre Harwich. However, another grab at 20 awaits at home versus Ipswich.

2’s Triumph Versus Witham

A great win for the 10 men of the Green. Wickets for Jens Wair and Tony Lee helped slow Witham's scoring rate, but 154 looked useful in a game reduced to 30 overs a side. An opening partnership of 48 gave the Green a solid start before Jamie Murray fell to a very good catch on the boundary, after a couple of hard hit boundaries from Tom Lee, four wickets fell quickly, this brought Nick Murray and Jens Wair together with the total at 78, and with mixture of some selective boundary hitting, clever running between the wickets they saw the Green home in the last over with an unbroken partnership of 77. Jens finished with 37 not out, Nick 36 not out, to complete a terrific victory for the Green.

PIErate's Hole in the Hull

Unfortunately it appears the powers above do not want us to play our final versus the University as it has been called off.

Bank Holiday Banter

So as we look forward to the band night on the 26th this coming month we have also secured a PIErates game on the Friday! The Real Oddies & the Odd One out Pub (combined The Real Odd Ones) have accepted an invite to play them on the Friday night @ The Green. Format is still to be decided but selection has opened so if you want to take part in this fun game please do get in touch!
Also, let us not forget the band night with Andrew Woodhouse & the Parker Twins performing for us all in the name of charity, it is truly not to be missed! That is on the 26th and is expected to be the Green’s Greatest Night © since Steve Lemacq!
