Welcome to our second edition of our EAGCC newsletter (name still pending).
SENIOR SECTION: The Saturday 1’s enjoyed a victory over Witham 2’s to go second in the table! 4 wickets from Alex Hammond and a handy 97 off 68 balls from James Parker saw the green take a 20 point victory. The 2’s however struggled versus Kelvedon 3’s. An Ollie Stovell 50 & Tony Lee 43 weren’t enough to steer the 2s to a victory as they lost by 5 wickets. The Sunday firsts still searching for their first win as they lost to a strong Elmstead XI. The PieRates Wednesday XI had a rare upset at Bromley yesterday. A strong team failed to get enough runs and the home XI won in the final over.
The 1sts tackle Nacton away this Saturday in a title chasing clash. Nacton are only behind by 2 points so if anyone wants to come support it will be greatly appreciated and spur on the boys! There isn’t a 2nds game on the Saturday. The Sunday 1sts tackle NECL rivals GH&L at the home of cricket ... Mile End. Could this be their first win of the season? Join in and make sure.
YOUTH SECTION. Saturday saw more Kwik Cricketers (pictured) warm up for more tournaments this Friday! The U11’s recorded another great win on Monday versus Abberton. Good luck to U11s and U15s games later this week.
WOMEN'S SECTION. Ably skippered by Stumpy the Women's first outing saw them lose narrowly to Sudbury after hitting an impressive 120 runs. They take on Copford tomorrow – a couple more players and loads of support welcome!
