Eight Ash Green Cricket Club News story

Congratulations to Alex Hammond- New Car

02 May 2017

If you missed it Alex Hammond finally scored a century for the green on Saturday! You can read the report on the fixtures page on the website.

As a thank you for his 20+ years commitment to the green & 101 runs on Saturday we asked Alex what he wants most in the world.

At first he said, "To be captain of the Sunday 1st's in Div 1 of the North Essex League, playing some of the biggest clubs in Essex."

We obliged, however felt that wasn't enough so we asked again.

To which Alex replied " I am tired of cycling to the likes of Nowton & Stebbing on my pushbike with my kit bag on my back, a car would be really appreciated. Not a good car though... I like those Japanese automatic cars with the indicator on the wrong side and an ash tray to put my scented candles.".. "Also, i need ooh Matt Parker to be able to drive it only to Frinton CC but make the handbrake so obscure he drives a couple of miles with it on. One last thing plenty of storage for CD's including Wings, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and of course Prodigy."

We happily obliged and brought him this lovely err car with the money from the match fees taken on the day (£10). Alex was over the moon, lit his candles and drove off into the sunset, for a vegan curry at Curry India. (Sponcorship Pending)

We hope Alex enjoys his new car and it's not the only thing he drives on Saturday against Kelvedon... (Richard Nunn's half-volleys outside off.)
