Police lose out in Run chase

27 Aug 2016

A great days cricket at the Green on Wednesday saw the Essex Police Vets just fail to overhaul the Green total of 205. Memorable for Matt Parker's first 50 for the club, the Green's crucial runs came from father & son Tony & Tom Lee. Tight bowling from our own veteran Keith Steel, and good overs at the end of the innings from Jonathan Purser & Will Spicer saw the Police fall just short.

A large number of spectators attended, as well as Vice Presidents, Sponsors and ex players, we were delighted to welcome the Eight Ash Green friendship group who enjoyed afternoon tea. A huge thanks goes to Penny Lovejoy, Helen Nunn, & Kathryn Spicer who worked hard to ensure players and spectators were well fed throughout the afternoon and evening.
