It was very nice to have a warm sunny evening after rain the previous evening after we had driven to Long Melford.

There was an uncontested toss as West Bergholt Captain James Wilkinson offered for us to bat first, which we were happy to do, as Captain Ethan Wyatt was going to elect to bat.

After the early wicket of Billy Sutton there followed a stand of 150 for the 2nd wicket between Chris Appleby and Ethan Wyatt. Chris made his best score of 38 not out and Ethan Wyatt scored his first fifty, which included a six out of the ground in scoring 52 not out. Eight Ash Green totalled 162-1 from 20 overs.

West Bergholt were always behind the run rate, with Tom Griffiths opening the bowling with 2 maidens. When West Bergholt upped the run chase Ethan Wyatt then produced 2 direct hits from throws from the deep to run out 2 batsman. West Bergholt totalled 106-5 off 20 overs.

Special mention to Billy Sutton who kept wicket for the first time and only let through 1 bye and the younger members of the team who played and performed admirably, as lots of regular U13's were unavailable.
