Match report Great win for the Under 11's at a talented Brightlingsea team.
For many players this was their introduction to hard ball as we had 2 games cancelled so far.
Batting first, we ran well between the wickets and despite not hitting many boundaries were excellent at picking up byes and additional runs off wides. The other improvement was we only lost 3 wickets (minus 15 runs) showing players respected the good balls.
Chasing 267 to win (teams start on 200 in Terrier cricket!) we bowled accurately, with most players bowling only one wide in their 2 overs. Our fielding was exemplary with good team work and backing up the throws. Even though we only took 2 wickets we kept the run rate down and Brightlingsea ended up 12 runes short.
The next game is on Tuesday 18th June at home to Wivenhoe.
