Kelvedon & Feering v Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Redundant4 on Wed 06 May 2009 at 18.00
Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Won EAG won by 9 runs

Match report EAG were ably skippered by veteran Daniel Rice and batted first. Kelvedon bowled tightly and the opening pair of Dom Purser and Ben Parker struggled to get runs. They played a straight bat though and set a good platform for Ethan Ward and Jonathan Purser - the latter hitting three big fours in their pair total of 23. Thomas Potter and Dominic Doherty also batted sensibly to add a further 15 runs before hardened pros Jamie Murray and Danial Rice saw off the very good tail-end bowling.

Setting a target of 234, all the EAG bowlers bowled at the stumps and let Kelvedon make the mistakes. Wickets tumbled and tight fielding and calm run-outs ensured the home team score remained low. Special mention to Ethan who kept wicket for the first time and Ben Parker who hit middle stump with his first ever delivery in hard ball cricket. Rice marshalled his field well and despite an heroic 27 runs from the last pair Kelvedon were never in the picture.
