Stowmarket II v Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Two Counties 1st XI on Sat 23 May 2009 at 13:00
Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Lost by 5 wickets

Match report Development XI v Stowmarket

A respectable total of 172 was achieved off 45 overs, thanks to 70 from Danny Guy in one of his best innings in recent times, his trademark boundary hitting mixed with watchful defence which ensured he batted for a long period and helped the Green recover from a terrible start of 37 for 5 off 12 overs. Danny was assisted by Tim Chambers, they put 94 for the 6th wicket and after Danny departed Tim added useful runs with the tail before being bowled for 47 in the last over.

Good opening spells from Jack Smith and Stephen Nunn kept scoring in check but the Greens’ failure to take regular wickets made Stowmarket’s task easier. When Danny removed two batsman in successive balls their target was only 10 away and this was achieved with 7 overs and 5 wickets to spare.
