Match report A top performance from the 10 man 2nds at Harwich. Put into bat Paul Marston continued his hard hitting from the previous week with a quickfire 31. Richard Polley and Keith Steel then put on 80 for the third wicket, Steely departing for a controlled 32. The skipper lasted until the last over when youngsters Tom Lee and James Plummer added what proved to be useful runs.
A contrast of ages opened the bowling, with Keith Steel and Troy Collins bowling tightly and they were backed up by some impressive fielding and two top catches by Tom Lee in the deep. Steely bowled 13 overs straight through taking 3 wickets, Troy returned for a second spell to hit the stumps with two excellent deliveries. Richard Polley took three wickets courtesy of a catch and two stumpings by Neil Brinded. Harwich needed 15 off three overs with Marsy ready for his second fill in over and off the first ball he snared the last wicket caught behind, a fourth victim for Neil Brinded.
Great victory for the Green with every player playing their part.
