The M H Two Counties O 50s annual match at Eight Ash Green this season ended in an embarrassing 127 run defeat. The Two Counties had one of those days that is best forgotten when things went wrong from the outset’ Eight Ash Green batted first and took full advantage of some wayward bowling. Luke Keeble was exceptionally harsh on any bad deliveries and he powered his way to 74, Joe Young 58no and Andrew Woodhouse 35 carried on the good work and the home side were able to declare on 193 for 6 on a wicket that was giving the seam bowlers in particular plenty of assistance. Martin Southwell 3-35 and Tony Oram 1-42 were the pick of the Two Counties bowlers with Tony, in particular, losing out to some missed chances.

The Two Counties had one of those batting days when everything went wrong and no one got into double figures. Their final total of 66 being one of their lowest totals recorded. The Eight Ash Green bowlers were always in command and the O 50s had no answer to their efforts. Jake Harris 4-17, Peter O’Donnell 3-7(unplayable), and, Tony Lee 2-11 were well on top and the Two Counties had no answer on the day. As ever the M H Two Counties were well entertained by the Eight Ash Green faithful, and as ever a good day was had by all, despite the ignominy of a crushing defeat. With the words must do better next season ringing in their ears.
