Clacton IV v Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Porky's Pirates on Sun 08 Jun 2014 at 1pm
Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Won Pirates won by 104 runs

Match report The Pirates first outing was against a young but spirited Clacton 4ths. Inserted onto a solid track openers Jack Smith & Tony Lee struggled to score against nagging bowling. Wickets then quickly tumbled through poor shot selection before Ollie Stovell (48) and Jo Young (30) let rip to provide a total to bowl at.

Opening bowlers Sam Pace & Matt Norris applied pressure from the start and wickets tumbled as the run rate increased. Pirate of the Day was Duncan ‘Disorderly’ Stonehouse who dislodged the dangerous opener with his first ball and ended up with figures of 3 for 7 off just 3 overs. A good start played in the right spirit by both sides.

Pirates Clacton June 2014

Pirates relax after a comprehensive win at sunny Vista Road. Tony Lee seems to be asleep which is what everyone else did when he scratched around for a Brindedesque 15 runs off the first 18 overs.
