Match report On a night where the weather improved as the match went on the U15's again provided a very professional performance to beat Abberton by 57 runs.
We won the toss & elected to bat first. Play was soon stopped for 15 minutes due to a heavy storm & things did not look good as we were soon 19 for 2 in the 3rd over. However in parallel with the weather improving the Purser brothers steadied the innings & batted very well. Johnson, Shepherd, Parry & Murray also batted well & we were able to post a very impressive 158 for 6 off our 20 overs.
Abberton's innings started slowly but they did not lose their first wicket until the score was 30 in the 7th over. However the high required run rate & tight bowling from all EAG's 10 bowlers contained Abberton to 101 for 5 off their 20 overs. Well done to Jamie Murray for carrying out the wicket keeping duties & a special mention of Elliot Cryne & Charlie Lovejoy who shared the umpiring duties. As always Mick Purser did the scoring to the highest standard.
