Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Lost by 14 runs

Match report Mistley won the toss & decided to bat first. Due to school trips & a last minute illness we only had 9 players. At the end of the 20 overs Mistley scored 84 for 3 wickets. Our bowling was good, reasonable tight & apart from a couple of dropped catches & some acrobatic attempts to stop some well hit shots the fielding was very good. McDonald, Woodnott & Wroe took 1 wicket each, well done to Greaves for taking the gloves as both the usual keepers were unavailable for the match.
Our innings started well until Woodnott had to retire hurt injuring a thigh muscle whilst taking a quick single. After 9 overs we were 39 for 1, Mistley bought on some very good bowlers & due to some unfortunate run outs we finished the 16 over on 52 for 5. No more wickets were lost when the match finished, we got 70 for 5 off 20 overs.
This was a much improved performance on previous matches & I am sure all players look forward to the next match. Well done.
