Match report Another excellent display of all-round cricket by the EAG U16s, including some terrific opening batting by U14 Alex Johnson and strike bowler Sam Pace (debut EAG half-century). They shared an opening stand of 79, well done. Matt Wadling and Ollie Stovell took the score into the stratosphere, scoring 53 from only 31 balls between them.

Having lost one fielder for amateur-musical-theatre-reasons, everyone (except Elliot - well done for keeping so well) bowled at least two overs, which is always great to see. The champagne moment for this innings came in the tenth over, when Harrison Staines, in his debut for the U16s and having bowled two overs with no wickets, leapt to his right to take a brilliant catch at mid-wicket off the bowling of Jon Purser. With that under his belt he went on to take two wickets in his final over, employing slow left arm spin to great effect.
