Eight Ash Green Cricket Club North Essex 1st XI (Sunday) v Chappel & WC on Sun 20 Jun 2010 at
Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Lost By 29 Runs

Match report The 1st XI lost to Chappel by 29 runs in a disappointing match at Fordham Heath.

Bowling first in overcast conditions, the Green's opening bowlers Jack and Ally soon had Chappel in trouble with some excellent quick bowling. Ally proved to be the pick of the bowlers taking 4-38 with Jack and Keith taking two wickets each and Tom taking the other. Chappel were dismissed for 127 in the 30th over in what was a really good bowling performance.

The Green's innings started in positive fashion when Keith hit 3 fours in the first over. Despite losing Luke for 9, Keith and Josh were looking comfortable and had quickly moved the score to 61-1 before Josh's dismissal triggered a spectacular batting collapse. 9 wickets fell for the addition of only 37 runs with Keith being the only batsman to get into double figures as the Green were all out for 98.

A very disappointing defeat, particularly after being in such a good position.
