The Greatest Weekend ever for the Green?

17 Aug 2015

Well maybe not quite but it was certainly a weekend to remember as all 4 senior teams won in style.

It all started on Friday evening as the PieRates led by Andrew Woodhouse recovered from 7-5 to beat the Real Oddies to be crowned champions of the Colchester Trophies Evening League. Not bad for our first season in the competition!

The result of the weekend came from the Saturday 1st XI who crushed top of the league Nowton by 8 wickets to take the team within a point of promotion. Woodhouse with 6-18 to blow Nowton away.

The Second XI continued their brilliant season with a 75 run win against Cavaliers thanks largely to a wonderful first hundred from Oli Stovell and 4 wickets for 14 year old Will Spicer!

And the Sunday XI completed our winning weekend by comprehensively beating Stebbing by 6 wickets to leapfrog them into second place. Captain Nunn taking a hat trick!

Overall an incredible weekend for the club. Well done to every player, scorer and umpire involved. Up the Green!
