Mixed Results Last Week

Caps off to the1st XI who beat table-toppers Witham on the Saturday, especially Colchester Brewery MOM Calum McDonald pictured below.  Not so much luck with Seconds and Sunday XI who lost to Cavaliers and Gt Totham respectively.  Match reports on the web site. 

Three Games This Weekend

Hard to believe, but this Saturday is the last home fixture for the 1^st XV who take on Harwich & Dovercourt.  The Seconds are away to Maldon and the Sunday XI away to Sudbury. 

Bank Holiday Weekend Fun v Dulwich Lawnmower, Sunday 29^th and Monday 30^th August

Our old friends from Dulwich Lawnmower will be visiting The Green for a two-day cricket festival on Sunday 29^th August (40 over game) and Bank Holiday Monday 30 August (6-a side festival). As well as two cracking, fun days cricket there will be some special beers and BBQ’s for post-match tea. Please come along and join in the fun as a player or spectator. It is a lovely opportunity to have a beer, catch up with friends whilst enjoying some sporting entertainment. 

For the two matches we need some players so PLEASE UPDATE YOUR AVAILABILITY -

• Sunday 29^th August – we want to field a strong XI in the 40 over game starting at 12.30. Lawnmower have been playing well this season and are talking up their chances. Let’s keep them in check (and in the bar)
• Monday 30^th August – we are running a bank holiday special 6-a-side festival. This is a great, fun series of short games and we need 14 players for our two teams.  Please make yourself available.

Kwik Cricket and Youth Awards, Monday 30^th August

Youth Section, make sure you come up to The Green on the Bank Holiday Monday!  Between 9.00 and 10.15 there will be Kwik Cricket for youth and parents.  Then between 10.15 and 11.00 there will be the  Youth Awards Presentation before the second Dulwich Lawnmower match.
