Match report After back-to-back wins, the Green made the short trip to Needham Market looking for the hat trick. Unfortunately for the Green the day started with a hat trick of a different kind as Captain Nunn lost his 3rd straight toss of the season and the Green were put into bat. After a watchful start, the Green lost Deepak & Joe in quick succession. The skipper & a returning Stu started the rebuild before Steve was run out for 30. Scoring was slow with tight bowling & a slow outfield meaning runs were hard to come by. Stu yet again past 50 because of course he did, however he was out for 65 just as he was starting to up the tempo. It was then left for Tom Lee to take the Green to a competitive total. His sparkling 43 including a couple of big 6’s to give the innings much needed impetuous at the end.

The Needham reply was very much a one man show as Mark Burch constructed a brilliant 113*. Unfortunately for him, there was very little support. The Green chipped away at the other end and did well in the field to restrict the number of balls Burch faced. Joe & Matt Parker each took 3 a piece, with Matt getting the important wicket of Folkard caught behind just as Needham could see the finish line in sight. In the end it was left with Joe to defend 16 off the final over which was comfortably achieved. A hard-fought win to continue to the momentum. Next up a tough game back at the Heath against Hadleigh.
