Match report After losing 5 wickets in the first 2 overs, the under 11's looked dead and buried........
Earlier the bowlers had done really well to restrict Brightlingsea to 246-5 off their 16 overs. Tight straight bowling and less wides helped, as well as some good teamwork in the field.
EAGCC managed to rebuild their innings with patient batting rather than big hitting. However, just as it looked like we would overtake their score, we would lose another wicket and the penalty 5 runs would hit us hard. The last pair proved too good along with Brighlingsea's wayward bowling, and an unexpected 1 run victory was secured.
