Match report Sunday team captain Duncan Wyatt still recovering from broken ring finger, so Captain Will Spicer won the toss for Eight Ash Green and decided to bat.

Will Spicer set off at a blistering rate and contributed 58 to a opening stand of 71 with Hansana Gunasekera. Jack Axon played steadily before opening his shoulders and showing us two lofted straight drives down the ground to show how much he has grown in confidence this season, before departing for 60 runs. 5 wickets fell in the last 2 overs as we swung the bat to finish on 207-9 off 40 overs. I had said to Craig Axon at the start of our innings I would be happy if we got about 200, as that would give us a chance.

Great Waltham batted steadily all the way through in pursuit of the 208 victory target and in a tight finish they finished on 201-9 off 40 overs for Eight Ash Green to win by 6 runs. Dev Agrawal recorded career best bowling figures of 5 for 55. The 7 teenagers in the team as normal played with great enthusiasm and in the interval it was so nice to see all 7 of them standing in a huddle laughing at Jack Axon's phone showing an incident from the Grand Prix. The relaxed team spirit on a Sunday is certainly bringing the best out of the youngsters.
