Match report In our final game of the season the 2nd XI were defeated, in an exciting and close game, by two wickets. The cruel result is that Ipswich get 20 points and EAG get 5 - not a fair reflection of the closeness of the actual game.

EAG did make it tough for themselves with a patchy batting performance. A score of 112 all out looked about 40 runs short. Tom Lee (27) and Hansana Gunasekera (18) were the only two to give much resistance to some accurate bowling.

In the Ipswich reply they moved smoothly to 47-1 and the game seemed to be a forlorn hope for the Green. However, a change of ends for Callum brought two wickets and improved his figures to 3-35. At the other end Tony, Tom and then Dev all took wickets in quick succession and Ipswich were reeling at 97-8. Could the Green could pull off an amazing fightback?

Unfortunately not. Ipswich late order steered them to a 2 wicket victory. A valiant effort in the field from the Green for a game played in a good spirit.
