Match report Put into bat on a chilly day at Ipswich, the Green were soon struggling at 95-7 but were rescued by an excellent partnership of 87 between Matt Norris and Jens Wair. Jens was unlucky to end up two short of his fifty. 182 felt sufficient and opening bowlers Nitya Patel and Ajula Gunasekera bowled tidily without much luck. Ajula has rapidly become the master of the vociferously enthusiastic appeal - some appeals were more optimistic than others! Luke Coppin's three wickets swung the match in the Green's favour but we were unable to remove veteran Kevin Ross, who was reminiscing during a break in play about playing at Ilford with Graham Gooch and JK Lever while a young Nasser Hussain walked round the boundary with his dad. Ross ended on 89 not out, many of which seemed to fly through backward point. In the end, our 182 proved to be not quite enough as Ipswich reached it with 6 wickets and 5 overs to spare.
