Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Won by 9 wickets

Match report An abbreviated report today as I wasn't there, but the scorecards show a very one-sided match that the Green won with oodles of time and wickets to spare. Good job really, as the weather was not really conducive to cricket, or it certainly wasn't pre-match; it was another day when the investment in covers certainly paid dividends.
As to the two innings, it was another Hammond show really, but t'was ever thus. I haven't trawled through club records, but I doubt that Keith H has ever returned better figures than his 6-15; not bad for a man whose primary contribution to the team is usually his batting! With four other bowlers each collecting a scalp, Wivenhoe were skittled for a paltry 87. It took the Green a little more than 17 overs to secure a nine wicket victory. Stuart H led the way with an unbeaten 46, his opening partner Matt Norris (33) nearly seeing us home to a ten wicket victory, but he decided almost at the last to allow another Hammond (Alex) to be there at the end.
