Harwich v Eight Ash Green Cricket Club U16 on Sun 21 Jun 2009 at
Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Won 6 wickets

Match report On a grey Sunday morning at Harwich, the Green overcame their frustration over a controversial umpiring decision to record a sweet victory. Batting first, Harwich were blown away by a lethal spell of bowling by Jack Smith, whose spell of 4-2-6-5 will be one of the performances of the season. From 16-5, Harwich to good batting from Good and Roots. The latter was lucky to survive after being bowled by a full toss from Giorgio. The ball hit the stumps 3/4 of the way up and neither umpire called no ball. It was only after the intervention of the Harwich coach that the batsman returned to resume his innings. Harwich eventually reached 100-9. It was a match we did not want to lose and Jack Smith (29) and Josh (36*) batted excellently to take us smoothly to a comfortable 6 wicket victory.
