After another very good batting performance, but we were out gunned by Witham in the end.

Matt Pyatt and Jake Egner opened the batting and after getting thier eye in they both made good progress with Jake getting 22 and Matt 7. In came Isaac who was run out while pushing for a tight run (but good to see us trying to score off more balls and trying to increase the run rate), and then Matthew Dunlop who was bowled for 6 but played some nice strokes. In came Richard Nunn who made an excellent 44 run including 6 fours. Leighton then added 8 before being trapped lbw. Our innings was completed by Nathan and Harrison. It was good to see us pushing the score along today.

Our bowling was opened by Harrison who kept a tight over. Through the second over with Duncan and the run rate was pushed ahead of the target by some nice strokes by the Witham openers in the main. Our bowlers tried hard to contain the Witham side but thier opener was in full swing and ended with 59 not out, and once the rate rate was under control we never really recovered. Matt Dunlop had two overs of spin and managed to bowl one of the openers. Matt Pyatt bowled three overs for just 12 runs, and then it was the turn of Isaac to threaten with some fast bolwing along with Richard. Jake and Nathan completed our bowling attack, but the winning run came
in the 18th over.

At times some of our fielding was not really up to scratch with too many fumbles in the field and dropped catches, although playing with only 10 players did not help. We need to make sure we all keep focussed and walk in with the bowler and stay alert at all times. We could also look to our field placements to make sure our strongest fielders are in the key feilding positions in front of the bat to maximise our strenghts.
