Match report For our first match of the season we couldn't have had a more difficult fixture. With just one outdoor net session behind us we were faced with the rather daunting prospect of heading to last years league winners Kelvedon. In the corresponding fixture exactly a year to the day previously, Kelvedon batted first and racked up 180 runs, setting up and easy win.
This year EAG batted first, but the match did not begin well. The first three wickets fell within the first three overs, and a partnership between Georgio D'anna (9) and Josh Lennard-Jones (19) salvaged an almost defendable total.
However it was not to be, as Kelvedon showed why they were league champions last year. The home side took just 10 overs to complete a comprehensive 9 wicket victory.
