Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Won by 8 wickets

Match report A superb spell of bowling from Calum McDonald (4-8), ably supported by a fairly decent effort from Joe Young (4-23), enabled the PieRates to skittle University B for a paltry 56, paving the way for a comfortable 8 wicket victory.
Calum combined hostility with accuracy, finding a length that troubled most batsmen, whilst Joe simply bamboozled the University players with massive turn, off what he suggested was really a road. And all this after they had hit 16 off the first over (sorry Sam, had to mention it) which took what felt like a week to bowl as we were continually hunting the ball in the shrubbery.
The Green took barely 6 8-ball overs to knock-off the required runs, with Tom Lee striking the winning runs in an entertaining unbeaten knock of 19.
Victory should move the PieRates into second place in the league and set-up a fascinating finale against leaders Chappel next week.
Finally, a special mention to our wonderful umpires, Matt Parker (never give a thing against a Greenie) and Tony Lee (trigger finger, especially when his son is in next!) - fantastic effort chaps!
