Match report The Under l5s lost by 4 wickets against Coggeshall on Monday evening in a game that was played mostly in drizzling rain.

Batting first for the first time this season, the Green managed to make 88-6 off their 20 overs. Richard top scored with 27 while Nathan(9), Matt(10), Jake(10) and Sam W(11no) all made good contributions, but the Coggeshall bowlers kept it tight in the later overs of the innings and the final total was a little short of what was promised earlier.

Matt P and Nathan opened the bowling for the Green and kept Coggeshall down to only 16 off the first 6 overs with Nathan taking the first wicket via a good catch by Richard. Sam P also bowled well, taking 2 wickets one off his own bowling. But then Coggeshall batsmen Josh Norman and former Green Player Matt Dunlop combined for the match winning partnership of 53 to turn the match in favour of the home team. Eliot and Jake each took a late wicket and Matt J also bowled well at a time when the batsmen were looking to accelerate the run chase, but Coggeshall reached their target with more than 3 overs to spare.

The boys again did well, but the Green were around 20 runs short of a match winning total, although the rain that got heavier as the match went on made bowling especially difficult.
