Match report After a weeks break 'The Green Machine' (Academy XI) returned to action this weekend and got straight back to winning ways.

Skipper and guest wicket keeper for the day, James "no byes" Warner won the toss and put the visitors in to bat. The flourishing opening bowling pairing of Nippy and Stephen Nunn again showed their class with spells of some of the most consistent opening bowling seen at the Fortress Fordham Heath for a while and they were both unlucky not to have got themselves a hatful of wickets each. Dot ball after dot ball put pressure on the Sudbourne players with Tommy Aston being the man to capitalize and make the biggest inroads taking another 5 for (4 for the season?), ably supported by an aggressive and well directed spell from Firball. Jens work in the field should also be noted after a superb direct hit run out of their of one of there openers.

Having bowled them out for a measly 53, the green chased quickly and effectively for the loss of only one wicket as Chris Chambers hit a breezy and entertaining 30 (not out), well supported by a mature 16 (not out) from Matt "Loudmouth" Norris.

Another quality win for the Saturday side and another big 20 points to keep us within touching distance of the top of the league. Some big local derbies coming up followed by some must win games towards the end of the season. If we continue to play like this, particularly in the bowling department we will be giving ourselves a great chance of winning this league. Keep up the good work ready for the final push towards Div 9 glory!!
